A big player, this is one of the few Washington State producers that you'll find on the shelves of your local offie. There's nothing wrong with these clean, well made wines, and they seem to hit the right price points. Owned by the same company as Chateau Ste Michelle, Stimson Lane holdings which produces a whopping two million cases annually and owns 1280 acres of vineyards in the Columbia Valley.

1999 Semillon Chardonnay
A light style with a boiled sweets nose. Ripe, sweet fruit on palate. Technological in style. OK/good.

1999 Chardonnay
Quite exotic but technological nose with a touch of spice. Nicely balanced palate showing ripe fruit and spice. Very modern but quite nice. Good/very good

1998 Grenache
This sweetly fruited wine is a bit like a Beaujolais nouveau in character, with a banana/bubblegum edge to it. Great fun. Good/very good
