Established in 1992, Firesteed makes relatively large quantities of wines from bought in grapes. They are clean and competently made, but I didn't really care for them.

1999 Firesteed Pinot Gris
Bright, fruity, spicy nose leads to a rich, balanced, sweetly fruited palate. There's a distinct boiled sweets edge to this wine and it is a bit technological for me. Very good.

1999 Firesteed Pinot Noir
20-25000 cases made. Very light coloured with sweet fruit and high acidity. There's a bit of spicy complexity. Attractive in a lighter, 'new world' style. Good/very good

1998 Firesteed Pinot Noir
Extremely light in colour, with a leafy, cherry nose displaying a herbal/spicy edge. There is pure fruit and high acid on the palate. A light but pleasant style. Good/very good
