Late night wine, episode 4

More late night wine drinking, this time with three wines that disappoint, and three book reviews.

The books reviewed:
Jay McInerney's 'A hedonist in the cellar'; 'Questions of Taste', a multiauthor volume edited by Barry Smith; and Kermit Lynch's 'Adventures on the wine route'.

Damn! My internet provider blocks the link. Just finished reading Kermit Lynch's Adventures on the Wine Route last week - a poetic, vivid, iconoclastic read. I would suggest anyone to read it alongside Andrew Jefford's 'A New France', with which it shares many qualities.

Jay McInerney is also a favourite -he's the kind of guy I'd love to go for a high-end bender with! His other tome on wine 'Bacchus and me' - is also definitely worth a read.

Hi Jamie, was there some Raboso in that Prosecco? Presumably that's where it got it's (lean) colour from; I bought a load of rose Rab last year, quite acidic, light, good lunchtime glugging.
I was a little bit disappointed in McInerney's book after all the hype about it being a cracking side-spltter. A cut and paste of a selection of his columns. Yes, an extremely good writer but having also just read Waugh on Wine, for me there's no comparison. Anyway, nice episode. And a great dog!
