A Pinot Noir shoot from
one of Rustenberg's vineyards high up in the hills. The vines are trellised
rather unusually in
this experimental patch, tied up to a stake in a fashion that's somewhat
reminiscent of the Northern Rhône
or the Mosel. It's windy up here - perhaps this is why the growth seems a little
stunted when at this stage
of the year (early December) it should be vigorous.
