Postcard from the Cape...part 3

Indian Ocean and white sand at Arniston

Arniston
We’ve just spent four days in Arnitson. It’s a spectacular place. A fishing village on the Indian Ocean, it still has a remote, undeveloped quality. Just one shop and one restaurant. But a truly beautiful beach, and a great place to chill and eat very fresh fish.

I bought along several bottles of decent white wine (Thelema Sauvignon, Glen Carlou Chardonnay, and assorted Constantia  bottles), and the restaurant generously allows corkage for just 10 Rand. Yesterday we moved on, and we’re currently in Stellenbosch, staying at Warwick Estate. Another lovely location, and you can see Table Mountain from the brilliantly sited hillside vineyards. More later: we’re off to watch cheetahs being fed.
