This is the second release of the Roebuck’s luxury Rare Expressions Collection. It’s the Rare Expressions No.96, which is aged 96 months on lees. Chardonnay (47%), Pinot Noir (38%), and Pinot Meunier (15%). Beautifully aromatic nose with some toasty detail as well as ripe pear and some pastry notes. The palate is lively and complex with some dried herb and citrus notes, with marmalade and citrus. It’s juicy and focused with a nice acid line. This is complex and harmionious showing some waxyt development at the fringes. 94/100 (£95 directly from Roebuck)
