The Remedy is one of London’s best wine bars

Just north of Oxford Street, before you get to Regent’s Park, you’ll find one of the best places to drink wine in London. It’s a wine bar called The Remedy, and it’s compact but often has space for walk-ins. And as well as a great wine list, it does some really good food, too.

Andrea Sabbatini is the dude behind this place, and he’s put together a really cool wine list. It’s catholic, but weighted towards interesting regions and low-intervention wines, without ever heading full natural.

We popped in this evening, ate two small plates, and drank a few glasses of very cool wine. Choice one was between the three bottles above. All were amazing but we went for the Pataille.

Sylvain Pataille Bourgogne Aligote 2023 France
Mineral and taut with lovely intensity to the bold citrus fruit. Very fine and expressive. Some saltiness. Taut and refined. 93/100

The second choice was equally hard. The Meinklang (2022) was vivid and a tiny bit wild, but we ended up going with the Gamay/Pinot Blend from Fanny.

Fanny Sabre Anatole Rouge 2023 Bourgogne, France
12.5% alcohol. A blend of Pinot Noir and Gamay. Juicy and bright with amazing focus and freshness to the cherry and raspberry fruit, with good acidity and a note of cranberry. Juicy and alert and very fine. Some nice sharp acid on the finish. 94/100
