Morandé Terrarium Semillon 2022 Maule Valley, Chile
12.5% alcohol. Back in the 1960s this was one of the most widely planted varieties in Chile but since then it has almost disappeared. This has a brooding aroma of honey, nuts and some stony peach and pear fruit. In the mouth it has dense citrus fruit with some fine spicy detail on the finish, and a bit of waxy complexity. Lots of personality here, with some waxy, pithy notes and the potential for ageing. Lovely balance. 92/100
