This is the first time I’ve tried the wines from this Alentejo producer, based in Redondo, making organic wines since 2013. I tasted with Rui Falé, the owner of this family property, with 11 hectares under vine.

Bright and fruity, slightly grapey, crisp and clean. 88/100
Courelas da Torre Assinatura 2022 Alentejo, Portugal
Means ‘signature’ and this is matured in oak. Savoury and with some spicy wood. Has fresh pear and citrus. Nice. 89/100
Courelas da Torre Luminoso 2024 Alentejo, Portugal
Curtimenta. Stainless steel, 20 d skins, no added sulfites. Full gold. Powerful, lively, grippy and grainy. Orange peel and spice with a hint of mint. Slight mousy edge.

Picked at night, skin fermented Sauvignon. Golden colour. Rich appley nose. Lively and expressive with powerful citrus fruit. Has some citrus peel and some tannin. Bold. 92/100

Amazing level of deposit! No added sulfites, undisgorged. Lively, powerful, concentrated with bold pithy citrus fruit and some peachy, grapey richness. Really good. 93/100

14 months French oak. Complex fruit and spice nose with some liquorice. Bold savoury and spicy with rich fruit and lots of spicy oak. Works well in this big rich style. 91/100
