L’Ernest 2024 Vin des Allobroges (Savoie)
This is a very exciting new domaine in Savoie, from Lilian Hyza (pictured above, who used to sell François Frères barrels in Burgundy) and Lucie Domenge-Chenal (who’s from Savoie). They are making small quantities of super cool wines from 1.5 hectares of vines. I tasted these wines at a wine party in Paris with a bunch of interesting producers. This is the entry level. It’s varietal Jacquère and it’s taut, focused and mineral with lovely purity to the fruit. 93/100

La Grange d’Ernest Aux Sources du Lac Blanc 2023 Vin de France (Savoie)
This is 90% Altesse and 10% Bergeron (Roussanne). Fermented and aged in used François Frères barrels. Lovely texture here with nice reduction and some spicy mineral detail. Lovely tension here. This is precise, concentrated, refined and mineral with nice spicy detail. Remarkable wine. 96/100

La Grange d’Ernest Aux Sources du Lax Rouge 2023 Vin de France (Savoie)
This is Mondeuse. Supple, fresh and stony with lovely red cherries and raspberries. Fresh, mineral-laced and precise, this is an elegant expression of Mondeuse with real drinkability. Fine. 95/100
