They are 70% Grüner Veltliner but also grow Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc and Gelber Muskateller and then for reds Zweigelt, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Wolfgang Seher Wilde Rebe 2025 Weinviertel, Austria
This wine is made from grapes grown using a minimal pruning system. They start with a low canopy like Burgundy and then this grows to 1.5 m with minimal pruning. For the first few years yields are a little high, but then they settle down, and maturity is about 2 weeks later. This allows them to make fresh wines, with smaller berry size. 66% Grüner Veltliner, 34% Muskateller and Riesling. Alert fruity, peppery, grapey nose. Juicy and focused on the palate with lovely weight. Fruity and expressive with good acid, showing nice balance and personality. 93/100
