Highlights: two sparkling wines from Fitzpatrick, Okanagan, Canada

Fitzpatrick Fitz Blanc de Blanc 2015 Okanagan, Canada
12% alcohol. The Fitzpatrick family owned Cedar Creek, and when they sold to Mission Hill in 2014, they started a new sparkling-focused operation on the other side of the lake at their Greata Ranch in Summerland, which they had retained in the sale. Made from estate-grown fruit, this spends three years on lees. Bright and expressive with a slightly pithy edge to the juicy citrus fruit. Pure and nicely balanced with nice intensity, and a bit of toasty, spicy complexity. Lovely focus and balance to this wine. 91/100

Fitzpatrick Fitz Blanc de Noir 2015 Okanagan, Canada
12.5% alcohol. This is 100% Pinot Noir. Fruity and rounded with nice sweet citrus and cherry fruit, with a bit of pear richness. Lovely rounded fruit here with a bit of orange zest and good focus and purity. 90/100
