Urban Foxes is the English sparkling and still wine project of Colette O’Leary and Rebecca Coates. They are city dwellers with a love of the countryside and have started a virtual winery, and these are both really lovely wines – especially the rarity, the 100% Pinot Blanc. More wines are in the pipeline.
Urban Foxes Sparkling Rosé 2017 England
12% alcohol. Pinot Noir from a vineyard in Essex. Pale pink in colour, this is bright and fruity with some red cherry fruit and a touch of citrus. This is very appealing with lovely purity and focus. 89/100
Urban Foxes Blanc de Blancs 2015 England
12% alcohol. 100% Pinot Blanc. Full yellow in colour, this is really delicious, with ripe pear and cherry notes as well as some citrus, with a lively, crisp finish following the slightly plump, ripe fruit. This covers a broad range of the flavour spectrum, with fruit to the fore and a very slight toastiness. Finishes with apple and apricot. This is so lovely. 91/100
