Kindeli Luna Nueva White Blend 2020 Nelson, New Zealand
12% alcohol. This is a blend of white varieties including Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Viognier, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc. 12 hours skin contact then fermented and aged in amphora for 9 months, with no added sulfites. A full yellow/gold colour, this has a little bit of reduction on the nose (egg and matchstick/flint), but it doesn’t get in the way of the lovely ripe pear, melon and apricot aromatics. The palate is fresh and mineral with nice crystalline acidity supporting the lemon, apricot and melon fruity notes. The overall impression is one of an intriguing, finely spiced, fruity wine with a bit of mineral complexity. 94/100
