Restaurants: Ouzeri, Cape Town – modern Greek at its best
I really enjoyed lunch at Ouzeri in Cape Town last week, with buddy Chris Groenwald and his 3 year old son, who was impeccably behaved. This is an airy, spacious restaurant serving a modern Greek menu, complimented by a short but perfectly chosen wine list representing modern South African classics.
The approach is small plates, and we ordered pretty much everything off the lunch menu. The dinner menu is a bit longer, but even with the lunch menu, we were left lacking nothing.
I really liked the flavours, and also the execution of these dishes. The (open) kitchen is clearly on top of their game. Front of house is also spot on. And coming to Cape Town from the UK it all seems very affordable indeed.
