I can’t remember ever having a bad bottle from Dard & Ribo, the natural wine heroes of the northern Rhône. This, purchased off the list at The Farmyard in Hastings for £68 is a gem. Dark and brooding with a peppery, slightly smoky edge to the vibrant raspberry and cherry fruit. There’s some structure here as well as pure, lush fruit. And there’s a gravelly, savoury, slightly reductive grunt. Lovely presence and some ripeness evident, but everything works well together. Finishes with a peppery sheen. 94/100
