Arianna Occhipinti makes three different Vino di Contrada wines: BB, PT and FL. They are from different parts of the same vineyard in the Vittoria subregion, and the grape variety, Frappato, is common to all. This is BB, and it’s a beautiful linear expression of this variety.

From hard white limestone soils, the Frappato grapes from this part of the vineyard (Bomboileri) were picked in October. This is fresh, bright and taut with a nice peppery edge to the sweet black cherry and blackberry fruit. Tight and compact with some notes of leather. Tannic and fresh, this has lovely focus. 95/100
