Bassermann-Jordan is an organic producer based in Diedersheim in Germany’s Pfalz wine region.
They have 21 hectares of vines in the villages of Forst, Deidesheim and Ruppertsberg, and 85% of this vineyard area is planted with Riesling.

This spends 6 years on lees. Very linear and pure, this shows fresh, bright lemon and lime fruit with keen acidity. It’s still very pure and fresh with a zippy, vital character. 91/100
Bassermann-Jordan Riesling Trocken Gutswein 2023 Pfalz, Germany
Lovely flesh here, but it’s also fresh and dry with crisp acidity under the crystalline lemony fruit. Supple and mineral. 93/100

This translates as ‘on the wall’, and it is made by the first pickings of the GG sites, fermented in 1200 litre oak. Lovely tension here: bright and pure with fine crystalline citrus fruit. Shows real precision and good acidity, finishing stony, mineral and dry. 94/100

This is an orange wine made from Pinot Gris. Two weeks on skins, no added sulphites, unfiltered. Cloudy red/pink in colour, this is pure, fine and textural with a chalky edge to the cherry and lemon fruit, with a bit of grainy structure. 92/100
