Highlights: Pablo Fallabrino Sagitta Nebbiolo Grand Reserve 2020 Uruguay

Popped into the Good Wine Shop in Kew today and was recommended this wine: a Nebbiolo from Uruguay! Drank it out of Govino glasses in Kew Gardens, and it delivered pleasure.

Pablo Fallabrino Sagitta Nebbiolo Grand Reserve 2020 Canelones, Uruguay
14% alcohol. From clay soils, this spends two years in used French small oak. It’s warm and rich with a sweet spicy quality to the cherry and berry fruit. There’s some development here, but also sleek fruit, and nice structural framing. It’s still noticeably Nebbiolo but with some warmth and richness. Like a new wave Barolo in style. 93/100 (£25 The Good Wine Shop)
