Famille Fabre Gasparets Le Camin 2022 Vin de France
14% alcohol. This is Viognier made in a very interesting way. It begins with a carbonic maceration, and then ageing on skins in two vessels. Some goes into a 1000 litre amphora, and then the rest is aged in acacia barriques. No added sulfites. 2000 bottles made. Slightly cloudy, golden colour. There’s a hint of mint on the nose, with some apricot and ripe pear. Bold and intense on the palate with a bit of structure, making it feel rich and grainy in the mouth with some sweetness from the fruit and alcohol. Bold and vivid with real depth and richness, with amazing texture and a structured finish, with some exaggerated wood spice, wet clay and incense characters in the background. A remarkable wine. 94/100
