Highlights: Jules Desjourneys Pouilly-Loché 2019 Bourgogne, France

I visited Fabien Duparray of Domaine Jules Desjourneys back in 2018 and loved the wines. Here’s a good one that I tried today.

Jules Desjourneys Pouilly-Loché 2019 Bourgogne, France
13% alcohol. This has brilliant tension to it. There’s richness, with ripe pear and peach fruit, but also good acid holding everything in tension. No flabbiness here, but lots of flavour. This has real precision and focus. Nuts, honey, a slight creaminess. Good acidity and focus here. Just a hint of nice reduction, too, which works so well. This is quite beautiful. 94/100
