So nice to see wines like this coming from the UK. I love what Flint, who are based in East Anglia do. They hardly seem to put a foot wrong.
Flint Vineyard Pinot Noir Precoce 2025 England
12% alcohol. This has a little bit of Pinot Noir in the blend, as well as the early-ripening Fruhburgunder (aka Pinot Precoce), and there’s a portion of whole bunch. Fermented and aged in concrete tank and neutral oak. It’s just such a joyful, juicy wine, but also has some nice texture and a hint of seriousness. Juicy redcurrant and cranberry notes do the treble end of the register, and then there’s some sweet, soft strawberry fruit filling out the middle. Finishes fresh. Massively drinkable, and serve slightly chilled for best effect. Just lovely. 92/100
(£110 for six bottles direct from the winery; many outlets sell by the single bottle, at around £25, but a lot will still be on the 2024, which is also very good)
