This is a really impressive skin-fermented, naturally made Fiano. It’s a distinctive wine, but it’s delicious, and it held up well a day after opening, too.
Il Tufiello Sancho Panza Campania Fiano 2020 Italy
12% alcohol. This is skin-macerated Fiano, and it’s quite wonderful. It’s a full golden colour and has aromas of hay, ripe apricots and some dried herbs. In the mouth this tastes really nutritious and balanced with flavours of ripe apple, peach and some citrus peel, with harmony, quite low acidity adding to the rich texture, and then a bit of tannic grip providing balance and bite. Lovely stuff. Distinctive and lovely. 94/100
