These are top wines, from a producer who’s a member of an association of top producers (the VDP, see more here) from a special vineyard site, made in a dry style. This is a good one. The Doctor vineyard in Bernkastel is legendary, and Wegeler is one of the major players here, along with Thanisch.

13% alcohol. Great concentration allied to precision here: crystalline citrus fruits with a touch of grapey richness, and notes of spice and green apple. This has lovely texture and concentration in the mouth. It is dense without being heavy, and has a tapering finish with fine spices and a core of lemon and lime fruit. A really beautiful Mosel Riesling, showing a touch of the warmth of the vintage, but also good focus. 94/100
