Video: Stompie’s new home in the Swartland – visiting Platteklip
Jamie Goode and Treve Ring visit Stompie Meyer’s new place. He’s got a new home for JH Meyer wines and has planted new vineyards on the property, in the Swartland. But this is rather different to what we know of as the Swartland: the Platteklip vineyard is at altitude (630-820m) and is much cooler than the rest of the region. Varieties include Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, not typical for the region. He has applied for a new WO (wine of origin) subappellation.
