Highlights: Domaine Jean Perrier Altus ‘Le Vin Des Sommets’ Apremont 2019
What’s good about this wine? First, it’s a really delicious alpine wine from a producer with a sizeable 62 hectares of vines in Savoie. Second, it’s being stocked by Majestic, a major UK retailer, thus making what would otherwise be quite a geek wine more widely available.

Made from the Jacquère grape variety from clay/limestone soils. This very fresh, fine and precise with lovely citrus fruit with some pear/apple richness and a nice mineral texture. It’s fine and smooth, but also has this bright spicy flourish on the finish as well as hints of fennel and sea salt, together with just a hint of sweetness. A lovely alpine wine. 91/100
