A superb white Bourgogne that I bought a few years ago, drinking brilliantly now.
Domaine de la Cras Marc Soyard Bourgogne Blanc Coteaux de Dijon 2017 France
13.5% alcohol. This is a beautifully expressive Chardonnay from just outside Dijon. Marc Soyard was chosen by the city to look after this 8 hectare vineyard, and the results as evidenced here are amazing. It has some dissolved carbon dioxide giving a little fizz on opening, and then there’s a blast of crystalline lemon and lime fruit, with a fine toasty, spicy edge and lovely minerality. Such precision, with some grapefruit pith quality and tangy, lingering mineral notes. Superb. 94/100
