Paumanok Prestige Cuvée 2012 North Fork of Long Island, New York
13% alcohol. 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc. Now fully developed, this shows appealing savoury-edged blackcurrant and cherry fruit with notes of earth, cedar and herbs. There’s a slight acid lift, but overall this is a very attractive evolved red that sits more in an old world style than new. I wouldn’t hold much longer, but this is drinking beautifully at age 10 and a bit. 91/100
