Alsace adventure (5) heading north to see Mochel, Pfister and Loew

On a rainy October day in Alsace, Lars Daniels and I headed up to meet three producers working in the north of the region. We dodged heavy showers to look round the vineyards then did a joint tasting, including some of the most interesting wines of the trip.

Guillaume Mochel, Mélanie Pfister and Ludivine Martin

All You Need is Loew Omagy Nature 2022
Skin-fermented Gewurztraminer. This has a gold/copper colour, with the tannins from skin fermentation adding some spice and lovely table grape, pear and apple notes. It’s really expressive and the exotic notes of Gewurztraminer are dampened down in a nice way. So lovely. 93/100
