Sifnos, the gastronomic Greek island (7) back to Cherinossos and Sifnos Stoneware
So the final day. We weren’t catching the ferry until 5 pm, so it was back to Cherinissos for the magical bay and the fish tavern. Lots of swimming, and a brilliant lunch: this time we drank a bottle of the amazing Sclavos white that I’d bought at Mr Vertigo at the beginning of the trip. It was gorgeous in this setting. What a beautiful few days.

A little ceramic postscript. When we were at Cantina, we admired the ceramics they were using. So we found out where they came from, and made a visit. It was Sifnos Stoneware. This is in the village of Artemonas, and was founded in 2006 by Antonis Kalagirou. His family had a history of ceramics, but moved to the USA, and then after 30 years back to Sifnos. Antonis studied engineering at Nottingham (UK) university, before deciding to join the family trade. The work he does is fantastic.
