14.2% alcohol. I visited De Lille back in 2015, so it was interesting to try this wine with almost 8 years bottle age. It’s a blend of 66% Merlot, 29% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc and 2% Malbec. This is beautifully aromatic and elegant with sweet red cherry and berry fruit. So supple and fine with a sweet fruit core and some fine chalky notes, but also real elegance. This is in a really nice place with a refined, smooth core. It’s ripe and easy, but there’s also some seriousness. This is why we cellar wine, and I think this was underrated by the critics on its release. 94/100
