This is a project based in the Baião subregion of Vinho Verde right next to the Douro. It began with a family quinta Casa do Arrabalde (5 hectares of vines), and another property Quinta dos Espinhosos (7 hectares of vines) and this was then supplemented with the purchase of the much larger (33 hectares) Quinta de Santa Teresa.
They now have 45 hectares of vines all organically certified. Oenotourism is important here. All ferments are with indigenous yeasts.
Casa do Arrabalde 2024 Vinho Verde, Portugal
A field blend of Avesso, Alvarinho and Arinto from vineyards at 550 m. Fresh and supple with nice weight, and a strong mineral edge to the textured citrus fruit. Lively. 92/100
Quinta de Santa Teresa Monólogo Santa Teresa Avesso 2024 Vinho Verde, Portugal
Fresh, bright and linear with lovely weight and texture. Has direct citrus and pear fruit, and a nice crystalline quality. Very stylish. 93/100

Fresh, bright and quite linear with lovely purity. Slightly salty lemony directness but also some nice texture. Lovely wine. 93/100

This is a blend of Avesso, Arinto, Alvarinho and Malvasia Fina. 10% in oak. So textural and lively with bright lemony fruit and some ripe pear. Fresh and linear with a nice acid line. Pure with a wide dynamic range. 93/100

Nice density with bright, pure citrus fruit. Good concentration, showing mineral-laced citrus and nice saline detail. Really expressive. 94/100
Quinta de Santa Teresa Esculpido Avesso Vinhas Velhas 2023 Vinho Verde, Portugal
13% alcohol. Old vines, 20% new oak. Powerful and layered with some spicy oak supporting the lively lemony fruit. Has freshness and concentration, with the oak adding an extra dimension. 92/100
Quinta de Santa Teresa Rosé 2024 Vinho Verde, Portugal
This is 90% Touriga Nacional, 10% Vinhão. Textured and layered with sappy red cherry fruit and some strawberry. Bright but with good texture. Stylish. 92/100
Quinta de Santa Teresa Avesso Curtimenta 2023 Vinho Verde, Portugal
Fermented on skins for two weeks. Bight, lively and expressive with citrus, peach and some zippy acidity. Good structure and nice brightness, showing lovely energy. 93/100
