Gamine Rose, innovative wines from the Dão and Douro
Odile Rose Bouchard is the winegrower behind Gamine Rose. Her family own Quinta do Tedo, a small Port estate in the Douro Valley, and she began making her own wines in 2021, in both the Dão region, and also with grapes from the family property.
Odile has a varied backround, having lived in California, Tuscany and Burgundy as well as the Douro, and this is reflected in her thoughtful, creative winemaking. I tasted with her at Simplesmente Vinho in 2026, where she was just showing her Douro wines.

Gamine Rose Fora do Tedo Branco 2024 Douro, Portugal
This wine spends 10 months on lees in barrel, wine globe and amphora. Lively, pure and vivid with juicy pear and lemon. Lovely personality and poise here. Very fine. 94/100

Gamine Rose Tedo Vinho Tinto Batard 2024 Douro, Portugal
This Bastardo plot was planted 2022 at Quinta do Tedo, so this is the first crop. Fresh and vivid with nice textural berry fruits with some grainy structure. Really impressive. 93/100

Gamine Rose CP 2024 Douro, Portugal
This was raised in concrete amphora, made by Drunk Turtle. It’s Touriga Franca at 350 m, with transition schist and granite soils. Floral and intense with nice vibrant cherry fruit and some texture, showing a core of sweet fruit. Fresh and beautifully balanced. 94/100
Gamine Rose Q+V 2024 Douro, Portugal
This is from the same plot of Touriga Franca, this time with some whole cluster and aged in 600 litre barrels then glass. Structural, fresh, linear and with beautiful cherry fruit. Such a lovely wine. 94/100
