This is the bargain in the line-up from Tenuta San Guido: of course, Sassicaia and Guidalberto are amazing, but they aren’t that accessible, whereas this delivers a lot of the personality at a more affordable price. I really like it.

13.5% alcohol. 75% Sangiovese and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a beautiful expression of Bolgheri that’s bright, linear, juicy and tart with sour cherry and raspberry, as well as amazing presence. There are some nice green hints along with the juicy fruits, and good acidity. A wholesome, fresh, linear wine with good tannins and acidity. Such elegance and drinkability. 93/100 (UK retail is c. £30)
