Tau! Vinho is an interesting and creative wine project that began in 2021 based in Barcelos, Vinho Verde. There are four partners in the venture (The joint venture of four friends from Barcelos: Filipe Lemos, Hugo Milhazes, Jorge Carvalho and José Paulo Castro) and each year they buy grapes from partner producers in Vinho Verde and make wine. The labels are the result of collaborations with different artists, who get involved, visiting the vineyard and winery before beginning their commissions. These are natural wines.

Lovely aromatics. Fruity style with nice presence. Juicy, vivid and full with lovely brightness. 92/100 (Portuguese retail €16)

Tau! Branco 2024 Vinho Verde, Portugal
90% Loureiro. Good energy. Bright, saline, pithy, nice acid line, lovely weight and precision. So delicious. 93/100 (Portuguese retail €16)

Tau! Curtimenta 2024 Vinho Verde, Portugal
Loureiro. No treatments in vineyard, which had been abandoned for the season. Foot trodden, 12 d maceration. Floral, aromatic, with lovely marmalade and apricot. Such presence and balance on the palate with great energy. Good acidity. 94/100

Tau! Tinto 2024 Vinho Verde, Portugal
Vinhão direct pressed, and then other varieties macerated for 2 days, then fermented and aged in stainless steel. Fresh and vibrant with juicy cherries and berries. Crunchy finish. Lovely fruit here. 91/100

I also tried two kombucha/wine hybrid drinks they make. They give their partner (Aquela) must and skins, they infuse this into kombucha making.
