Highlights: Champagne Taittinger Brut Millésimé 2015 France

This is really impressive. I admit, I wasn’t expecting it to be this good.

Champagne Taittinger Brut Millésimé 2015 France
12.5% alcohol. Equal parts Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, 70% Grand Crus, 30% Premier Crus. Five years on lees with a dosage of 9 g/l. This is rich, toasty and intense with pear and peach as well as crystalline citrus fruit. Bold and expansive with mid-palate richness, a touch of sweetness, and real length. I love the toasty, spicy deliciousness to this wine, allied with the ripe fruit. There’s just a twist of reduction, too. An almost complete crowd-pleaser of a Champagne. I’ve gone big on this, but I think it deserves the score. 95/100
