Highlights: two pinks from English producer Chapel Down

Chapel Down are one of the UK’s largest wineries, sourcing grapes from all over the south of England. These two pink wines impressed.

Chapel Down Rosé Brut NV England
12% alcohol. From the 2018 vintage, this is a pure Pinot Noir. Very crisp and pure, this is a really lovely rosé showing great balance between the cherry, cranberry and citrus fruit, showing good acidity and also a toucb of sweetness. There’s lovely focus to this wine, which shows pure, primary fruit. Nice briskness here. 90/100

Chapel Down English Rosé 2019 England
11.5% alcohol. Nicely coloured this is a real fruit salad of a wine with fresh cherry, rosehip syrup, some stony notes, a bit of rhubarb and even a bit of pineapple. Very juicy and delicious with good acidity. 87/100
