This is a real find. It’s a relatively humble-looking bistrot, with a large outdoor seating area (inside is nice, but smaller, and presumably sees few diners during the summer). The menu is varied, but the focus is on seafood, and the house speciality is fried fish bones, which taste much better than they sound or look.
I started with these, then had whelks and aioli (this was a good choice), then followed up with an intricate and delicious fish dish – I think it was snapper but I’m not sure of my translation.
The wine list is a good one, with an emphasis on authentic and even a bit natural. A few of the relatively short list had sold out, but I ended up going for a chilled red from La Clape, light in extraction. It was a good choice.
So much to like about this place. Don’t come here for a white table cloth experience, but the general vibe and the standard of cooking is excellent.
