Highlights: Hajszan Neumann Nussberg Grüner Veltliner 2020, Austria

Weingut Hajszan Neumann is located at the foot of the Nussberg and the district of Grinzing, with 20 hectares of certified biodynamic vineyards spread across the region’s mineral-rich, weathered limestone soils. This cuvée comes from the cooler Weisleiten and Haarlocke vineyards. After a short maceration on skins, this was native fermented in stainless, where it remained until the following spring. This youthful GV is positively alive, buzzing with limestone energy across the sleek palate. Streaming lemon and lime pith, green apple, white pepper, and river stones culminate in a lingering, flinty finish. So striking and smashable in youth, this village-level Ortsweine will continue to put on pounds and impress with age. 91/100
