Restaurants: Honey & Co Bloomsbury, London

Just opposite Noble Rot in Lambs Conduit Street, Honey & Co is a really good restaurant offering middle eastern cuisine. It’s actually one of four locations in London owned by Sarit Packer and Itamar Srulovich – they are both from Israel and opened the first Honey & Co in 2012 after several years working with Ottolenghi. As well as running four restaurants and a catering business, this dynamic couple have also authored four cookbooks.

The dining room is bright and nicely laid out. The menu is just the right size, with some choices but not to many, and it’s complemented by an appropriately chosen wine list that’s neither cheap, nor expensive. We found two good bottles here: the modern retsina from Tetramythos and the gorgeous Liatiko, a lighter-red from Lyrarakis in Crete.

This is the sort of food that I love eating, and it’s also a good place to come if you aren’t a meat eater. Overall, an excellent experience.
