Highlights: Hambledon Classic Cuvée Rosé NV England
New release of this impressive rosé from Hambledon, one of the UK’s leading sparkling wine houses. [Aside: keep this out of the light because it is bottled in clear glass and runs the risk of light strike. Most English producers have moved away from clear glass.]
Hambledon Classic Cuvée Rosé NV England
12% alcohol. Juicy, bright, tart and linear with a hint of sappy redcurrant and cherry fruit, as well as some juiciness. There’s a nice tartness to this, with good acidity, but it’s fresh and has great energy. There’s some volume on the palate, but also brightness. I like the fine green hints that work well with the fruit. There’s a hint of sweetness, too, and this works too. 91/100
