Bien de Altura Tidao 4 2022 Gran Canaria, Spain
12.5% alcohol. This is a blend of local varieties, 100% whole bunch, with some white varieties in the mix. The vineyard is at 1100 m and it’s 120 years old. It’s pale in colour but has lovely complex aromatics of pepper, dried herbs, some sweet cherries and a touch of cranberry. In the mouth this has some nice tannin as well as silky, elegant fruit and there’s amazing tension here, with some nice grip but also astonishing drinkability and lots of peppery complexity. Very serious. 96/100
