Tasting a wide range of Swedish wines
I was in Sweden talking at the Swedish Wine Association annual meeting this weekend. As part of the event, there was a tasting of the members’ wines. These are the wines I tried.

These wines are from a mix of professional vineyards and hobby operators. This is an interesting time for Swedish wine, which is at the beginning of its journey.
Vingård Åhus jubilee NV Sweden
A non-vintage blend of Leo Millot and Rondo. Lovely fleshy, juicy fruit here, with berries and plums. Easy and clean with a slight savory twist. Satisfying. 87/100
Selaöns Premiår Rondo 2023 Sweden
Juicy and fruity. Nice raspberry and cherry fruit. Finishes tart in a nice way. 89/100
Hallavång Traditionelle 2022 Sweden
Solaris, traditional method, 12 months on lees. Bright and vivid with juicy cherry and lemon fruit. It’s Solaris and has some of that intense fruity quality with a touch of melon. Lovely. 89
Hallavång Grande Cuvée 2022 Sweden
Solaris, 18 months on lees. Tart and bright with nice pithiness. Juicy and alert. Some Solaris character but works really well. 90/100
Vistakulle Vingård Bella Verona Solaris 2024 Sweden
Lovely grapey, melody aromatics. Generous, pure, textured palate with nice fruit. 89/100
Thora Vingård Heritage Solaris 2024 Sweden
14.5% alcohol. Complex, ripe and layered with rich melony fruit and well integrated oak. Broad and luxurious from a warm year. 93/100
Thora Vingård Pinot Noir 2024 Sweden
10 months oak then tank. Assertive cherry fruit nose. Bright and expressive. The palate is fresh and textural with elegant red cherry and berry fruit. Stylish. 94/100
Stora Berg Zephyr Solaris Sparkling 2022 Sweden
Herby, bright and lively with a melony character. Nice freshness. Tangy. 87/100
Åstad Vingård Sparkling ’22’ 2022 Sweden
This is the second label from Åstad, made from the second half of the press. Solaris. Classy with bright citrus and pear showing some lovely focus. 27 months on lees and they will have digorgements that are later. This is lovely and bright. 90/100
Lottelund Perlé Sparkling 2021 Sweden
Souvignier Gris, 2 years on lees, 5 g/l dosage. Lovely depth and presence here with nice brightness as well as some depth of fruit and a lovely herby twist. 90/100
Sandviken 272 Solaris 2024 Sweden
Subtle oxidative hints to the pear, apple and cherry fruit finishing slightly tart. 85/100
Flyinge Vingård Pegasus Stal 2024 Sweden
Bright, textural, stony. Lovely depth of fruit here. Yellow plum, melon, pear. 90/100
Flyinge Vingård Solera NV Sweden
Some botrytis. Distinctive aromas. A hint of glue, with appealing citrus and melon fruit. Textured palate is rich and fresh at the same time. Nice complexity. 88/100
Annerbergs Granite 2024 Sweden
Solaris. Nice vivid fruity nose. Lovely vivid bright citrus and pear fruit on the palate with nice purity and presence. Very satisfying. 90/100
Annebergs Silex 2024 Sweden
Solaris in steel. Stopped fermentation with 16 g 10.7 acid. Lovely fruit here with some sweetness to the pure pear and cherry notes. Has balance. 89/100
Annebergs Mousserande (Sparkling) 2023 Sweden
Rich and fruity with bold pear and melon fruit showing nice acidity. Nice herbal hints. Good presence here. Concentrated. 88/100
Sankt Jörgen Park Andersson Solaris 2023 Sweden
Stainless steel. 250 vines. 90 bottles! Fresh, bright and tart with lovely focused citrus fruit and a touch of melon. Juicy finish. 89/100
Sankt Jörgen Park Andersson Solaris 2024 Sweden
75 bottles. Pithy, dense, intense. Nice fresh citrus and pear fruit. Good intensity. 88/100
Skepparps Vingård Mousserande (Sparkling) 2023 Sweden
10 months on lees, Solaris, 6 g dosage. This is fruity and lively with vivid pear and cherry fruit as well as some melon. Nice juicy finish. 88/100
Särtshöga Vingård Blanc de Blancs Cuvée Tradition NV Sweden
The base year here is 2021, with 30% perpetual reserve from 2016. Disgorged after 36 months on lees with 6 g/l dosage. Juicy bright and linear with pure citrus fruit. Fine and linear with a slight pithy edge. 91/100
Särtshöga Vingård Blanc de Blanc Franc de Pied 2020 Sweden
From cuvée, 5 years on lees, 4 g/l dosage. This has lovely weight and complexity some baked fruit some spice and toast. Nice intensity and good acidity. Lovely tartness. 92/100
Särtshöga Vingård Cuvée de Reserve Extra Extra Brut NV Sweden
First harvest here was 2016, and they started keeping wines in magnum with 6 g sugar for some fermentation as a special reserve. From then on, they kept the perpetual reserve in four 600 litre barrels, and every now and then they bottle a little to make this wine. 36 months on lees. Toasty and layered with lovely complexity and a spicy almost woody edge to the citrus, pear and apple fruit. 93/100
Särtshöga Vingård Millesime 2019 Sweden (Magnum)
6 years on lees, 4 g/l dosage. Lovely toast and citrus complexity. Melon, pear, toast and nice honied richness. Lovely. 92/100
Särtshöga Vingård Millesime 2018 Sweden (magnum)
Bold, pithy, structured and intense with real power and intensity with good acidity. This has such primary fruit and real acidity. 90/100
Särtshöga Vingård Millésime 2017 Sweden
Late harvest, cold year. Herby, tart and complex after 8 y on lees. Lively and intense with nice presence and some pithy depth. 90/100
Holmskaer Old School Cab 2024 Sweden
Cabernet Cortis with some others. It tastes like a cool climate Cabernet Sauvignon with some leafy green notes and vivid blackcurrant fruit. 89/100

Rich, vivid, lovely ripe blackcurrant fruit with a spicy edge and nice greens. Stylish, gravelly, green but good. 88/100

Rich ripe and rounded very textural and slightly off dry with 35 g sugar- but lovely balance. Mouthfilling and layered 92

Vivid, rich, spicy lovely depth and intensity a wall of rich spicy black fruits. Intense and delicious. 90/100

Bold rich but balanced lovely pear and citrus has a fine spicy finish real depth. 92/100
Flädie Vinproduktion Four Barrels Assmåsa Vingård 2024 Sweden Four textured with a fine spicy slightly woody edge to the rich pear and melon fruit with layers of flavour. 91/100

Very fine barrel detail to the layered pear and citrus fruit with a touch of creamy, peachy richness. 92/100
Arilds Vingård Kalles Kulle Solaris 2024 Sweden
Solaris, stainless steel, lovely pear and white peach with lovely texture and a hint of mint with nice fruit quality. 90/100
