Bluestone are a relative newcomer to the English wine scene, though such is the pace of change here that most are newcomers. The McConnell family planted 10 acres of vines split across four parcels on their Wiltshire family farm in 2016, and have been making their wines at Hambledon. The soils are sandy clay/loams over chalk, and are well suited for making high-quality sparkling wines. I was impressed by this.
Bluestone Premier Rosé 2021 England
Pale pink/orange in colour. This is juicy and vibrant with a lovely citrus core and some cherry and redcurrant notes, as well as fine spices. Vibrant and youthful with fruit purity, and a nice delicacy. Finishes juicy. 92/100
