Three nice rosés: Boutari, Delaunay, Foncalieu

It’s rosé season, and here are three attractive, well priced examples, including a nice one from Greece.

Boutari Dianthos Xinomavro Rosé 2025 PGI Imathia, Naoussa, Greece
12.5% alcohol. This is fresh and lively with some mandarin and citrus notes, as well as red cherry and cranberry. It’s fruity and delicious, but there’s a brightness and verticality to it that makes it quite gastronomic. Very stylish and well priced, too. 90/100 (£10 Tesco)

Joël Delaunay Les Cabotines Rosé 2025 Touraine, Loire, France
12.5% alcohol. Thierry Delaunay is a well respected Touraine vigneron, and this wine is made from Pineau D’Aunis and Gamay. Pale in colour, it’s stony and bright with raspberry and cranberry fruit, as well as some juiciness. This has a delicious tartness with subtle sappy hints, and lots of gastronomic potential. 91/100

Foncalieu Le Versant Grenache Rosé 2025 IGP Pays d’Oc, France
13% alcohol. Beautifully presented with a painted label design from artist Barthélémy Lanzini. This is a deliciously expressive rose with a sweet core of cherries and berries, with a fine spicy edge. There’s texture and richness here, showing deliciousness and drinkability, but also some nice spicy detail and an innate fruit sweetness. 90/100
