Another cracking lighter-style red from the UK!
Sandridge Barton East Field Pinot Noir Early 2025 Devon, England
11.2% alcohol. 100% Pinot Noir Precoce, 30% whole bunch, vatted for 8 days then stays in stainless steel for 8 months. No additions, even sulfites. This is crunchy and vivid with lovely pure raspberry and cherry fruit. So primary and vibrant, it tastes like a cask sample (in a good way) with lots of energy, and also some nice sweet texture under the fruit. This is immediate and very drinkable, but there’s more than a hint of seriousness. Blind I would have called it as Beaujolais, and a good one to boot. I really like this. 93/100
