Fita Preta Touriga Vai Nui Unoaked 2019 Alentejo, Portugal
13.5%. This wine, bottled young, attempts to capture the essence of Touriga Nacional, and it succeeds brilliantly. This has a lovely aroma of floral cherry fruit with some hints of tar. In the mouth there’s lovely vivid raspberry and cherry fruit with nice brightness and focus: it’s so floral, vital and primary with nice juiciness. In some ways, this is like tasting a barrel sample – the wine is bottled with none of that primary fruit deliciousness lost. 93/100
