13.5% alcohol. This is a blend of Cinsault, Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon from a vineyard at 1000 m altitude, made in a low intervention style, aged for 6 months in barrel. This is a taut, tannic and intense red wine, but it’s not overpowering. It offers sweet and savoury notes in nice tension, with raspberry and blackcurrant fruit with good acidity, firm, slightly dusty tannins and hints of tar and gravel. A beautifully poised wine: this is warm-climate but not all about sweet fruit, with really nice tension and good acidity, finishing with a touch of damson and a slight balsamic twist. For the price, it offers great value and could age well. Quite super-Tuscan in style. 93/100 (£20 widely available)
