Judith Beck is making some impressive natural wines in Austria’s Burgenland

Judith Beck farms 15 hectares of vines in Gols, in the Burgenland. Farming has been biodynamic since 2007, and she has taken the wines in a natural direction since taking over from her parents after some travels. These are impressive wines, fairly priced. UK agent is Les Caves de Pyrene, and I tasted them at the VinNatur festival in Paris, November 2025.
Judith Beck Koreaa 2024 Burgenland, Austria
This is a field blend, with all the grapes vinified together. No inputs save 15 mg/litre SO2 at bottling. Cloudy yellow in colour. Juicy and fresh with nice apple, pear and citrus fruit, with a tangy finish and good acidity. Has a lovely skinsy natural edge. 92/100
Judith Beck Traminer 2024 Burgenland, Austria
12.5% alcohol. 85% Gewurztraminer, 15 Gelber Muskateller, 8 days on skins, raised in a mix of oak and stainless steel. Full orange colour. Grapey and vivid with nice texture. Warmly spicy with notes of orange peel, finishing complex and layered. 92/100
Judith Beck Hunny Bunny 2023 Burgenland, Austria
Blaufrankisch, 4 days whole cluster with a bit of foot stomping. Pale cherry red colour. Lovely fine-grained red cherry and strawberry fruit. Such lovely peppery complexity. A deliciously expressive wine, with good acidity and just enough structure. 95/100
Judith Beck Beck Ink NV Burgenland, Austria
This is 2022 vintage, but it’s labelled NV. Zweigelt and St Laurent. Fresh and juicy. Lively with lovely cherry and strawberry fruit. Delicious, with slightly elevated acidity. 91/100
Judith Beck Zweigelt 2022 Burgenland, Austria
This is from an old vineyard, and spend 12 days on skins, then it’s aged in 500 litre oak. Juicy and bright with lovely acidity and nice structure. Redcurrant, sour cherry and some spice. Juicy and fine. 93/100
Judith Beck Pinot Noir Bambule! 2022 Burgenland, Austria
50% whole cluster for 8 days then goes to amphora. Juicy and supple with lively red cherries and redcurrant, showing nice precision and acidity. Has a hint of green. Very stylish. 94/100
