Previously labelled as Domaine Gagey, this is now Famille Gagey, presumably because some non-domaine fruit enters the blend. Bouzeron is a small appellation in Bourgogne of 47 hectares, devoted solely to Aligoté. This is a superb example of what this variety can do, and it’s vinified two-thirds in tank and then one-third in barrels, of which 20% are new.

This is a really good Aligoté. Lovely aromatics with lively citrus notes as well as ripe pear. The palate is fine grained and textural with lovely depth of flavour, and notes of pear skin, crystalline lemons and a hint of apricot. So lovely, showing real depth, and a slight saltiness on the finish. 94/100
